Having an arc exploring the hyuga clan would have also been a chance to develop naruto and hinata's relationship, since it was underdeveloped in canon Btw, hiashi is an asshole and i don't think he deserves any sympathy, he should have been the one to die if any hyugas had to die. A hyuga senbon needle shadow clone jutsu using rotation would have been badass Rotation starts and a thousand needles come flying from all directions impaling every enemies chakra points around them.

Technically, the hyuga is the stongest clan overall but the uchiha few numbers of its strongest clansmen vastly outweigh them thanks to the way the story is presented to us. Hyuga is implied to have a crush on riko but he doesn't act upon it through the entire series, and it's merely implied a couple times, including some remarks by izuki and koganei.
