This article begins with a section on the methodology used to develop the literature review.
Through reviewing the current related esp studies, this article sorts out its definition,research and methods, and points out that the present esp is not just a course focusing on teaching and materials, but also a research area which guides the development of linguistic theories. In this paper, some specific teaching approaches are discussed when they are applied in tesp based on the three principles, which can help make tesp more effective, as to make students more proficient in their esp learning. Esp is defined as an approach to language teaching that takes learners' reasons for learning into account when making decisions about content and methods.
