So i typically use chum and i catch a lot of pike but i’m really not sure if there is a positive correlation between the two
Pike in nimisila i really don't know if there are pike in nimisila now,but twenty years ago there were a ton of them in that lake.i have caught many pike off of the bridge by the bait store.i used to fish with eddie,who owns the bait store's son,and i remember the two of us following the creek under the bridge into the backwater and seeing some.
I've iced numerous large pike this season and am ready to pickle a few gallon bags of pike loins This is the 3rd season i've used hotdogs for bait and i'm totally convinced that they out perform most bait other than large live minnows which is illegal in. For gigantic baits (like the dead mackerel pictured) i like to use one stationary treble at the end and a free, untied treble on the leader (2' or so), so that i can put one hook in the mack's skull and then loop the leader around the fish and put the 2nd hook through the fish's back and hold the leader in place I do this because dead mackerel are kind of mushy aside from the skull and i don.

We have already started working on gates foodplots and etc The lease will start july 1st and run. So they arent far off They might have even started staging in the area right off the bays, or have moved into the bays, but have not started heavily feeding
From what ive read, their last big feed before the start of the spawn happens when the sun has a chance to warm the shorelines, and an influx of water.
