After having let it sit in some cases since early june until now outside fully wrapped, it seems the hay touching the wrap produces moisture I got the field on short notice so i couldnt plant last fall I use white wrap but the sun really heats up the bale in midsummer.

Dryness will make zero difference I think grass hay that gets too dry doesn't go through a sweat so therefore has a different odor so therefore isn't as palatable so hay won't be as readily consumed by animals as hay baled at correct moisture content.
