Dar is a governing organization within the hereditary society community of the united states of america, and each dar president general has served on hsc's board since its inception. Dar is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving american history and securing america’s future through better education. Chicago chapter, national society daughters of the american revolution (nsdar or dar), was established on march 20, 1891, as the first chapter of our historic service organization.
