I found onx to be superior for a number of reasons I prefer basemap over onx and tend to use google map once i find the area i’m looking for on basemap Onx buys these imagery services like anyone else, they have zero control over how often it's updated, clouds that distort certain areas etc

They have read only access to a stream, that they add to their map.
There seems to be a lot of issues with the new app & offline use
Being this close to hunting season, i'm a little weary to trust it fully What are some alternative apps out there All i really want is to download high resolution aerial imagery maps for offline use At this point, i don't.
By les welch, rokslide prostaff don’t leave home without it No, i’m not talking about your american express card, i’m talking about your onx hunt system Technology has come a long way and it’s well worth your time to learn and understand the new digital scouting tools that are at your fingertips Fitness, weather, hunting pressure, […]
I have both gaiagps and onx
On a recent trip to north dakota, my alaskan hunting partner proclaimed that he also has both, but prefers gaiagps I prefer gaiagps for my hunts for the following reasons 1) gaiagps uses a perimeter outline instead of polygon markings Is there an easy way to tell which roads are open or closed in onx or elsewhere
Also, i’m wondering if there’s a good guide for motorized access Specifically what roads are open to. Use your iphone with the onx hunt app I have been using mine for the last couple years
You can get so much more detail on the satellite images, such as locating small clearings or seeping water sources
I don't even bring my garmin out of the truck anymore The only advantage a gps device has is that it has much longer battery life But you can combat that problem by just getting a couple. Onx won't tell you if a road is public and some public roads go through private land
You need to overlay the country road maps with it. I’m considering purchasing a garmin for use with onx maps for an upcoming public land elk hunt in montana Which device would you recommend I’ve used onx, basemap and google earth to e scout so far
