We almost never rake/bale high moisture hay so it’d seem there would only be very minimal dirt. Dryness will make zero difference I think grass hay that gets too dry doesn't go through a sweat so therefore has a different odor so therefore isn't as palatable so hay won't be as readily consumed by animals as hay baled at correct moisture content. Looks like i am going to have more leftover hay this year than i ever have I was curious at what point does everyone else start to discount their leftover hay All the hay left is quality bermuda square bales All is in the barn and in a good dry environment off the ground.
I read different post about wheel rake pros and cons One topic i often see is dirt in/on the raked hay I must say that issue has never once been discussed within my family or circle of friends
