I'm new to kodi and very novice when it comes to the network part of computers.
This problem started in the last 2 days My machine running kodi krypton 17.6 on ubuntu 16.04 is continually failing to connect to local network computers This problem only affects kodi Network ip addresses have not changed
The connection is through sftp The network status reports everything is ok and working, yet i still can't get it to access local network with any kind of permanency It sounds like kodi (or your macos network stack) is still caching the old dns settings from your previous network, which is causing the pvr connection to fail even though your ip address updated correctly Since kodi doesn’t manage dns directly, the issue is likely at the system level
Here are a few things to try

Almost all non mkv files) Mkv files (full hd videos) are playing smoothly with no issues at all but avi videos are jerky The problem is that it's not always jerky It is very smooth for a few minutes, then jerky 1 minute or so (like some frames are being dropped), then smooth again and so on
I've read somewhere that it could be due to sound. What i want is a random albums widget that refreshes on a regular basis On some skins this works on others it does not for reference i am on k19 using the old horizon skin which has been ported over to matrix and works really well
