The first month you sign up, you get a whole month of allowances for calling, data and messaging, even if there is only one day left in that billing cycle They make it up by collecting for an entire billing cycle when you cancel
On the other hand, if they prorated that final month, you could have had overages if you used a month worth of data in one day.
