Neither wodyetia nor veitchia will grow well at all here but their hybrid does shockingly well With only 2 to work with i of course will just hope to see if they germinate I wish a had a few more of them

Anyone growing one or more in a cooler climate?
I came across the legendary foxy lady palm
The hybrid wodyetia bifurcata x veitchia arecina I think i am madly in love Lol but really i've only heard amazing things from this palm and i absolutely love the looks from it Not to mention i read that it can handle down to 25f
I'm curious on how different they are i understand that f1 is the original cross between veitchia and foxtail and f2 is foxy lady crossed back with either of the original parent's I have an f2 and am wondering how the look of the palm compares to f1 Also how f2 compares to f1 on their cold hard. Alas, the time has come
I've been growing this foxy lady a few years now and i think it's time to rehome her
It's in a 15 gal but it ideally should go in the ground soon, it's filled in that pot already I was really ambitious intending to grow her up here, but fresno winters will trash it ever. Can anyone tell me where i can buy a small foxy lady or gear me in the right deduction thank you I wanted to start this thread to document myself and others’ plants so post if you got em
There wasn’t that many produced but they are out there The “lady luck” palm is a cross between wodyetia bifurcata x veitchia winin so the cousin to the well known foxy lady hybrid I got the plant from sea. So i am curious if foxy lady palms are fertile
This was acquired as a foxy lady, but the trunk is different than one of my other ones in that it doesn't have the bulge from the wodyetia bifurcata parent
The one i'm growing in leucadia is from the same source and purchased about the same time, a. Foxy ladies yes but why are these particular ones famous Are they the first two foxy ladies cultivated?? Hi john, when you coming home for goodness sakes.
They say the foxy lady is a rocket but the growth rate appears to be the same as seedlings Erik, the foxtails were planted many months before the f1 foxyladies I have numerous large ones in the garden & i would say the foxladies grow more rapidly The only exception, would be the ones that are extremely variegated.
