Crayola just happens to be the most quality and most common I'm pretty sure my brutfuner or castle art pencils hold up better Kids draw with crayons mostly because if you set a crayon on the couch it isn't going to have ink soak into the couch like a marker would

Kids aren't careful with their drawing and compared to markers or pens crayons are pretty clean and easy to use.

They have thicker color pencils called lyra and they are great
The brand castle also has fantastic regular sized colored pencils The brand arteza ( they have a specific kid section) also has pricier but amazing products. The coloring pages i worked on with crayola colored pencils have almost completely faded in 5 years I honestly think these are not even good enough for kids
