The first installment was written by james and deborah howe, and introduced a vampire rabbit named bunnicula who sucks the juice out of vegetables He is a vampiric dutch rabbit and the former pet of dracula who was sealed in a cellar until mina freed him. Deborah died in june 1978, before the first book was printed, and james continued the project alone.
