Credits and credit logos at the bottom of your wiki pages, usually some text and image links are shown pointing out that the wiki runs moinmoin, uses python, that moinmoin is gpl licensed, etc However, for larger organizations and public wikis, desktopedition will not offer the performance or flexibility of a standard moinmoin installation. If you run a public site using moinmoin, we would appreciate if you keep those links, especially the “moinmoin powered” one.

About python 3.x is the latest and greatest release of python
We are all very happy and excited about it and welcome the new stuff and changes it brings to us
It is (intentionally) not compatible with code written for python 2.x (like moinmoin) Moin and python 3.x moin 1.9.x does not support python 3.x and only works with python 2.7.x (and we won't port it to py3) Moin 2.0 is based on. The moinmoin wiki engine overview moinmoin is an advanced, easy to use and extensible wikiengine with a large community of users
Said in a few words, it is about collaboration on easily editable web pages The name moinmoin is a common german slang expression (see our moinmoin etymology page for more about that). Moin2 got rid of all the big 3rd party stuff that was bundled with moin 1.x and uses python packaging now, so you can use pip to install it (e.g Into a virtualenv) and it'll fetch all requirements from pypi.
