In around july 2025, vs code introduced some kind of ai autocomplete
I want to turn it off All the previous options like github.copilot.enable or github.copilot.editor.enableautocompletions don't. I am running vs code on a mac os I have installed jupyter extension but i'm unable connect to my python virtual environments
When i create a new virtual environment with anaconda, vs code appropr. I just had the same issue I just installed vs code on my mac and it could not find the command to select the interpreter Turns out that i was running in restricted mode
I had to trust to enable running program, sorry i did nt take a screenshot at the time!
6 if anyone has the same problem, before reinstalling vs code (as mentioned in the other answers), first try closing and reopening vs code first That worked for me, saving me the agony of having to reinstall vs code. If you are using code runner, just go to files>preference>settings and search for code runner Open the settings.json and find python
I dont know the reason but it seems like vs code can't access python command on its terminal but py does. This disables and hides features like chat or inline suggestions in vs code and disables the copilot extensions You can configure the setting at the workspace or user level Alternatively, use the learn how to hide ai.
After installing a new module via pip, if vs code doesn't recognize it, then reloading vs code may work
