+ any tips for recovery? Behind that though, i feel some regret, and wish i'd known the potential the copper iud had for bringing on mental/emotional disruptions beyond just the physical side effects that everyone knows about Opinions/experience with the copper iud (paragard) hi all

Not looking for medical advice, just your experiences
I'm looking at getting the copper iud at my 6 week pp appointment, per my ob's recommendation, and would like others' experiences with it
I've looked online for reviews and haven't found much that's too helpful. Op, i wish you the best of luck, hopefully we can both have no worries and good experiences with paragard! I've had the copper iud since february of this year I expected my period on thursday, dec
11, i experienced light bleeding/spotting and cramping, but i never got my full period I took a pregnancy test 6 days after my missed period, and i got a negative Other drugs are simply the otc drugs like naproxen or ibuprofen that help with the pain and inflammation While my iud was in i personally spent the most money on antihistamines.
I know people are far more likely to post about something online when they've had a negative experience with it, but i've literally never seen or heard anything positive about the copper iud
Any good iud experiences i've read about or spoken about with friends, they've had mirena or another on of the hormone iuds From the paragard prescribing info Limited data suggest that mri at the level of 1.5 tesla is acceptable in women using paragard® Got my copper iud 10 days ago, the blood stopped on day 4 from the insertion ( i was on my period, so it stretched it a bit) but random cramps still happen
According to my doctor, it's quite normal and i should expect spotting too, she told me to contact her if period like bleeding wouldn't stop after a week. Knowing i couldn't do hormones i opted for the paragard copper iud That was 7 years ago now Throughout these past 7 years i've had mostly regular, if fairly heavy and crampy periods, and some irregular bleeding that i always chalked up to other things (medication i was on that might affect hormones, supplements i was taking, etc).
